“If you don’t win the air battle, then don’t get into the war,” remarks Dan Goure of the Lexington Institute. He joins Secure Freedom Radio to discuss the effects that the proposed defense cuts will have on America’s military interests abroad. He warns that if our military lacks the necessary funds for forward deployment, then we will be at risk for losing our economic and technological advantages over those in the international community who do not have our best interests in mind. It is his belief that additional defense cuts will result in a hollow military and increased threats to American lives.
Next, American novelist and freelance writer, Claire Berlinski joins Frank from her home in Istanbul to talk about the unprecedented resignation of the Chief of the General Staff in Turkey in protest of the coup plotting charges presented against his fellow members in uniform. She gives us her slant on the Western press’s portrayal of the situation happening. The key question is not whether these resignations are good or bad for Turkish democracy, she says, but rather who is now in charge of running the 2nd largest army in NATO. Furthermore, she gives us the big picture of the Mafioso-like society that runs through the veins of Turkish leadership.
Peter Huessy, President of GeoStrategic Analysis, presents Frank with his suggestions for fixing the budget crisis, as well as voices his concerns that about the impact that cuts will have for the US over the next ten years. He urges Congress to choose between the Tea Party’s Ryan’s Budget Plan and the increase in taxes suggested by Democrats in order to provide the American economy with a long-term fix . Additionally, he explains how the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) will cede important American resources to countries that do not have our best interests in mind.
Finally, Contributing Editor for the National Review Online and weekly guest with Secure Freedom Radio, Andy McCarthy examines what he considers the “sad state of affairs” happening around the budget deal, as well as the federal government’s role in this deal. He also defends prominent voice against Shariah in the United States, David Yerushalmi against the allegations put forth by a recent New York Times article.

In the current debt ceiling debate, “it’s one thing to have a financial deficit. It’s another thing to have a national security deficit,” says Marion Blakey. Blakey, President of Aerospace Industries Association, joins Frank to discuss the frightening new defense cuts proposed in Congress, and what effects to our capabilities they would entail. Blakey believes the U.S. cannot afford a “hollow army,” and that is why she’s launched Second to None, a campaign to protect America’s superior military that has ensured a safer world. Then, Congressman Louie Gohmert, 1st District of Texas, adds his insight on the debt ceiling debate, in which he’s not too surprised the most transparent Administration in history is conducting negotiations behind doors. Gohmert expresses his fear of extensive cuts to the defense budget, but also his hope that now the House is deliberating with the Senate, rather than the President, the purported cuts will not be as severe. Next, former CIA Intelligence Officer Fred Fleitz shares his concerns with the U.S. Intelligence community’s scandalous refusal to “make an honest call” on the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Fleitz explains the biased nature of U.S. Intelligence’s 2007 assessment that concluded Iran halted its program in 2003, even as evidence has mounted over the years revealing an active program. Fleitz, who also served in the State Department and House Intelligence Committee, describes the need for Congress to call for an outside review, and how Iran could be testing nuclear weapons within two years. Finally, Andy McCarthy, of National Review, explains how a “Norwegian white guy who killed a bunch of Norwegians” may not be a case of Islamaphobic mass murder. McCarthy, who remains one of the leading voices against militant Islam, remarks how the ravings of a mad man have no enduring lesson on America’s current security and that the tragedy should not be used otherwise.

Has traditional warfare that countries have been waging for thousands of years become obsolete in the face of the internet revolution? Instead of machine guns, combat vehicles, and enemy troops, our greatest threat now comes from malicious software designed to infiltrate our economic and defense networks. Shaun Waterman, an award-winning reporter for the Washington Times, joins Frank to discuss how these advance persistent threats, or malware, are being implemented by foreign intelligence services to steal valuable weapons systems from the US Department of Defense. Then, Secure Freedom Radio’s regular guest, Andy McCarthy shares with Frank his misgivings about the impact that Sharia apologists will have on the security of the United States. He also educates us on the severe consequences of the early release of top Muslim Brotherhood operative, Abdurahman Alamoudi. Although the military is considered one of the most respected institutions in today’s War on Terror, many troops are facing low moral due to the current budget cuts initiative forcing the best of the best out of our military. Congressman Mike Coffman of Colorado’s 6th district, a former combatant in Operation Desert Storm, examines these issues and the other challenges the troops are facing due to the economic downturn. In the last segment, Gordon Chang talks to Frank about the recent visit by the Dalia Lama to the White House and the lack of true religious freedom in Communist China. Additionally, he discusses his fears of what an “All Weather Friendship” between China and Pakistan will mean for the United States.

America’s continued reliance on foreign sources for energy expose our country to grave security threats. Frank discusses his concerns that the government is neglecting the country’s need for more self-reliance when it comes to energy matters. Instead of fixing the problem proactively, he fears that only a catastrophe such as a natural disaster or a terrorist attack will push the government to start searching for new sources of energy. Congressman Rob Bishop, of the 1st district of Utah, joins Frank to examine the current issues facing American border control and the National Security and Federal Land Protection Act that might compromise the ability to carry out their duties. Eighty percent of the Arizona and Mexican border is deemed public land; however, American border guards are only allowed to patrol the twenty percent that is private. Rebeccah Heinrich chats about her new article, Is Russian ‘Reset’ Worth Kicking Allies to the Curb, which examines how the Obama administration is burning bridges with foreign allies in regards to missile defense in order to qualm Russia’s concerns. Lastly, Andy McCarthy gives us his take on the muddled policy being implemented in Syria; as well as the Obama administration’s “willful blindness” in fighting a global war without a global strategy.

Tuesday Jul 05, 2011
The U.S. will launch its final space shuttle mission on Fri., July 8, and Maj. Jeff Struecker, retired U.S. Army and 1996 recipient of the Best Ranger Competition, asserts that our national security will be undermined as a result, as much of the technology we rely on, such as Google Earth and GPS, was obtained through space exploration. Struecker, author of the novel Fallen Angel, a space-based intelligence story, joins Frank to discuss space as the final frontier for where we fight our battles. “Everyday we’re losing ground to other countries,” he says as a consequence of ending the shuttle program. Next, Gordon Chang, author of The Coming Collapse of China, describes how that collapse could be hastened by the unraveling of Communist control. Chang explains how China’s claims for stability reveal the opposite, as a financial boom led by foreign business has also brought foreign ideas, leading to rising dissent within the country, and the Party’s clambering to maintain control. Then, Rep. Louie Gohmert, of the first district of Texas, discusses the Obama Administration’s decision to reach out to the Muslim Brotherhood in a continued policy of what he terms, “embracing our enemies and slapping our friends across the face.” “The history one day will be written and this will be described as the way you go about losing a country,” says Gohmert on our current foreign policy and the aligning with a group that supports terrorism and a global caliphate. Finally, Andy McCarthy, of National Review, provides his weekly insight, discussing Iran’s so-called Counter Terrorism Conference that concluded America and Israel lie at the center of terrorism problems in the world. More alarming still was that allies Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan were in attendance. McCarthy also defines what he calls the “Incoherent Wing” of the Republican Party after Presidential Candidate Tim Pawlenty declared Iran on the verge of isolation; merely two days after 60 countries converged there to denounce the U.S.

Our resident Asia expert Gordon Chang offers his thoughts on China and India, and also China’s “Conflict Handbags” and the ensuing tumult in the streets, there from.
